About Flurry

Flurry was an eight year old AKC registered Samoyed. This picture is of her at eleven weeks old.

Sadly, Flurry passed away on Monday, July 23, 2007. She was noticeably sick the weekend before.
Chris took her to the ER vet on Sunday night, and they told him it was pancreatitis.
We followed up with her specialist for her Addison's, and we found out she had diabetes also and the pancreatitis could have been
one of three different types. Instead of torturing her with what it would take to manage the diabetes and her quality of life, we made the difficult decision to put her to sleep.
She provided lots of entertainment and always a lot of love, even after the babies arrived and the attention she got decreased.
She'd sit next to them while they were in their bouncy seats or having tummy time, as if guarding them. Once they started moving, she didn't know what to do!

Other than this paragraph, I've left the rest of her page the way it was when she was with us.

Flurry's Days

Flurry has learned to use her body mass to body check Blizzard when she wants to play.
If Blizzard doesn't respond, Flurry finds one of us and starts playing; that brings Possessive Bliz
into the game very quickly! She was happy when the fence was put in, but hates being outside in the heat.
Shes's becoming very good at exploring the yard and eating and doing a variety of things she should not.
Flurry's main talent is stumbling into situations she should not.
For example, one week I got a call from a neighbor as I was feeding the kids because Flurry had gotten out.
Somehow a fence gate was not latched all the way, and Flurry found her way out. Fortunately, she only made it one court over.

Flurry is very inquisitive about the babies. She likes to sniff at them and will let me know when one has a dirty diaper.
She also likes to sit next to them when they are in their chairs, as if she is guarding them.
Flurry has Addison's disease, leading to her seeing a vet specialist twice a year and being on several medications. Other than that, she's her normal silly self.

Escape Route     Deterant?

Flurry here- interrupting the babbling that She does. On and on, all day long! How do the kids she works with put up with it?
Any way, is it my fault He left 6 inches between the bottom of the fence and the rocks by the chimney that I could squeeze myself through?
Does She not realize I was chasing a cat that had dared to sneak into MY YARD!! I had to go. Blizzard was too big to squeeze through
(hahaha- I weigh less than you!). You look at the picture and tell me if Bliz could get through that!
Does He think those metal rods under the chimney fence will stop me? Umm, OK, they might.
As far as the other damange goes,it wasn't me that trampled all of those plants in the shady spot.
Blizzard complains that the rocks hurt her feet when we run back and forth after the bunny, um,
I mean, we never go where we are not supposed to. Does He really think that chicken wire is going to stop me?
Ok, I'm not supposed to go under the chicken wire anymore. (Hop). Blizzard, be quiet. I'm not supposed to be on the computer.
Now I've got to go hide and pretend I wasn't doing anything. Flurry out (for now!).

Play Time

Flurry loves to chase and tackle Blizzard. She will also chase toys; when she returns them, she drops them!
Her new game is tossing her large beef bones and listening to them fall on the floor. Flurry does the same thing with
her ice cubes (favorite snack). She loves stuffed animals, especially the football (her one redeeming quality, according to Chris!).

Flurry's full name is Rexann's Golden Flurry. Her birthdate is June 26, 1999.
She is almost as tall as Blizzard, but she is definately wider in the rear, which is why she likes to use it as her weapon.
Flurry was recently diagnoses with Addison's Disease, which means there is a problem with how
her adrenal glands function. She is now on three medications to help her body and one so she doesn't pee all through the house any more.
Flurry has returned to her exuberant self (translate to obnoxious- licking everything in sight).
Here last specialist vet check went well- levels within normal limits.

Her mother's name is Goldie and her father's name is Broker. The kennel she is from is in Southern Indiana, Rexann's Samoyeds.
