About Frosty Karaboo

Frosty Karaboo joined our family in September2009 after Blizzard passed away. We originally did not plan to get a new dog, and certainly not so soon after Blizzard, but P. took to wandering around the house searching for her andasking for the doggie. So we started researching for another dog and found a family in Indiana that had bred there dog to a dog from the breeder we got Flurry from 10 years previously. We thenhad to come up with a name, wanting to stick to the arctic theme. After many nights readingCanadian and North Europeans maps, I had choses to present to the rest of the family for a vote.We couldn't come to an agreement on one name, so she was named Frosty Karaboo, whowe call Boo. Her birthday is May 26.

Karaboo's Life

Boo as pup    Pup

Boo had a bit of an adjustment to life withus. We discovered she liked to dig holes, and she had been allowed to do so previously. We had hole after another dug up top, which we had to fill because of tripping kids. As she's gotten older, she seems to haveout-grown this a bit, but she still is diggin in the sand that is the pool base when it isn't set up.
She also likes to eat socks, especially dirty ones, so the kids are constantly having to be reminded to put them up high where she can't reach them. Taking those or stuffed animals seems to be her number one way to get the kids' attention. Mr. Man over the past few months has begun to tolerate her a bit more, and she reallywants to be loved. Boo likes to wrestle and run with the kids. As long as it isn't too hot, she loves our walk.

Boo looks a lot like Flurry, which means sometimes she gets called the wrong name. Hey, some daysI'm lucky if I call the kids by the correct names.
Fortunately, she doesn't seem to have gotten Flurry's adventuresomeness. That doesn't mean she hasn'tescaped once or twice. P. held the door open, and out she went. Another time, A. was picking up somethingand opened the gate- she followed him through. Both times, I had to get the car to get her. Good news, she just ended up on the next court. One night the wind blew the gate open as we were playing in the basement, and she came to the front door and started barking up a storm. I found her there when I broughtthe kids up to go to bed.
