TheSewing Corner

I'mlearning to quilt and sew. It keeps me busy, but I'm still so new, ittakes a lot of concentration
still (I'm not at the able to relaxand sew stage yet).

Chrishelped me renovate the "dining" room so I have a DEDICATEDsewing space now. For Christmas a few years ago, he built me a shelfto hold a T,V. and got a device that lets me watch the same T.V.shows he's watching in the family room- very handy with as much T.V.as we TIVO! I got to pick the colors to paint the room- I call themSmurf Blue and chocolate milk. Yes, I did have to pack up someDreamsicles for sewing supply space, but I'll survive (and so willthey). The shot on the left shows what the shelf looked like goingin. Blizzard and Flurry keep guard when I'm in there working.

Thephoto on the left is a quilt from 2004- a Log Cabin quilt for themini-van. My first quilt, a rail fence, became Flurry's blanket tosleep on (see right photo).
Traci's    Mom's Folly

Thequilt on the left is one I made for Traci for Christmas (yes, I knowit is Halloween themed). The quilt on the right was my first attemptat foundation paper piecing. It was a gift for my mom and depicts thedifferent houses where we stayed on our summer trips to Folly Beach,S.C.

I'm also working on some clothes to practice my skills, but those attempts are not for the general public to see. Maybesomeday I'll post pictures.

Quilting time became limited once I was pregnant and couldn't sit comfortablyat my sewing table. As the twins got older, I was able to completeone quilt- an OSU themed quilt. Okay, I did the appliques and put the top together, but Margo completed it.
Once I had Piper, time got even shorter as she's needed a lot of time, plus trying to make sure thetwins get their much deserved time. I did manage to make a quilt for my nephew (and it only took me a month!).
